Mamta Kaash is an "Internationally award-winning actor and producer with a distinguished career across film, television, and theatre. She is a voted in member of the International Emmys and is a member of international juries . Mamta also works as a presenter at events .
Mamta’s late father worked for BBC's External Services for the Asian subcontinent , rising through the ranks to become the first ever Asian to head this. Her mother is related to the Indian singer Sehgal & comes from an industrial family.
Mamta studied Economics at university & attended drama and production courses. She is married & moved with her husband to the East for several years, before recently returning to London to renew her career.
Her breakthrough, while at college came through BBC TV'S popular Series Angels where she was cast as one of the Angels. She has worked as a lead character in several popular TV Series like ‘Emmerdale Farm’, ‘River City’, ‘ Ruth Rendal’, ‘Hetty Waintrope’, ‘Inspector Wexford’, ‘ Between the Lines’ to mention a few.
BBC TV’s ‘Casualty’ the world's longest running medical drama is one of her most popular shows.
For BBC's ‘Shalom Salaam’ she won the best actress award at FIPA Cannes.
Shalom Salaam also won the SACD Best Screenplay Prize (Société the Auteurs at Compositeurs dramatics) for Gareth Jones at the International Television Festival FIPA (Festival international the programs audiovisual) at Cannes.
She has worked for the Royal Court Theatre in ‘Ma’& recently toured the UK with Queens theatre London in Tara theatre’s play ‘Silence’ . In Tara Arts trilogy of plays ‘Journey to the West’& ‘Domestic Crusader’s’ she also toured Britain & has worked several times at Theatre Royal Stratford East & Coventry Belgrade.
Mamta has appeared in a number of Award winning BBC’s Radio plays including ‘ Song of the Forest’, winner of the Giles Cooper Award in Japan.
For Scenario Films London & Maya Movies Mumbai she is developing a film on ‘Babur’ & an International TV Drama Series on ‘ The Mughals ‘ as a producer, having worked as an Executive producer in Gareth Jones nominated feature film ‘Delight’ & an Actor and Associate producer in Scenario Films Official Selection feature film’Delirium’ 2017 (IFF Moscow ) and REEL music - Best Score for film drama - Fiona Howe)
