Biography

K.S. Prakash Rao was born in 1914 in Kolavennu, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, India. He was a director and producer, known for Prem Nagar (1974), Donga Police (1992) and Drohi (1948). He was married to Varalakshmi G.. He died in 1996.

Father of the famous director K. Raghavendra Rao.

Was awarded the prestigious Raghupathy Venkaiah award by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh for his outstanding contribution to Telugu cinema in 1994.

Related to producer Kovelamudi, Bhaskar Rao.

In 1977 he won the Filmfare Award for Best Director - Kannada for Ganda Hendthi, and in 1995, Rao received the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for his contributions to Telugu cinema.

He was an Indian film director, producer, actor and cinematographer known for his works in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi films.
