Biography

Margrét Helga Jóhannsdóttir was born on May 4, 1940 in Mosfellssveit, Iceland. She was an actress, known for Mr. Bjarnfreðarson (2009), Volcano (2011) and Virgin Mountain (2015). She was married to Captain Flosi Gunnarsson. She died on June 17, 2026 in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Graduated from the National Theatre's Drama School in 1967 and thereafter worked at the National Theatre until 1972.

Had a decades-long and successful career with the Reykjavík Theatre Company.

Her son Guðmundur Örn died in 2022.
