- Arvind Joshi was an Indian actor, playwright, and theatre director known primarily for his work in Gujarati theatre and Gujarati cinema. Born and raised in Mumbai, he began his career in theatre before working in films. He appeared in several notable Gujarati films, including Kanku, Gher Gher Matina Chula, Garvo Garasiyo, and Dhola Maru (1983).
He also worked in Hindi films, including Ittefaq, Sholay (1975), Love Marriage, Naam (1986) and Godmother. Alongside his film career, he remained associated with Gujarati theatre, acting in several stage productions.
Arvind Joshi was the father of actors Manasi Joshi Roy and Sharman Joshi. He died on 29 January 2021 in Mumbai at the age of 84.
