- Was a top fashion model in the mid to late 1960s.
- Born in Buffalo, raised in Canada after her father's death, she briefly attended the University of Toronto, before moving to Paris in the mid-1960s to become a model with the Dorian Leigh Agency.
- She took acting classes from Lee Strasberg in New York, when she made her film debut in the hit film Wait Until Dark (1967).
- She got mixed messages from producer Mel Ferrer and director Terence Young of her debut film Wait Until Dark (1967) They told her that they liked her work in the film and offered her a four picture deal. She turned them down, not wanting to be tied down to one production company. So they retaliated by telling her to see the rushes of the film and pointing to a close-up of her face and saying that they didn't really need it in the film. And then, they yelled at her in front of everyone.
- She got her start in modeling in Toronto, Canada, but lack of employment opportunities there sent her to Paris, France where her modeling career blossomed. By 1971, she was earning up to $500 per day as a model.
