Rickie Lee Jones was born on November 8, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She is an actress and composer, known for Jerry Maguire (1996), Friends with Money (2006) and The King of Comedy (1982).

Won the Grammy for Best New Artist of 1979 (presented February 27, 1980 by Deborah Harry and George Burns).

She married a French musician named Pascal Nabet-Meyer in 1986. There was a language barrier; she couldn't speak much French, and he spoke little English. They ended up divorcing in 1990, leaving her to raise their daughter Charlotte as a single mother.
