Grover Jones was born on November 15, 1893 in Rosedale, Indiana, USA. He was a writer and director, known for The Lives of a Bengal Lancer (1935), Heir-Loons (1925) and Putting It Over (1922). He was married to Suzanne Avery. He died on September 24, 1940 in Hollywood, California, USA.

Father of Sue Sally Hale (1937-2003) who disguised herself as a man to play polo and pioneered women's acceptance in the sport.

Receives credit on early screenplay drafts of Duck Soup (1933) along with Harry Ruby and Bert Kalmar, around the time when the working title of the film was "Cracked Ice".
