Trivia

  • When son Micky received his first royalty check from The Monkees (which he described later as having "a dollar sign followed by a telephone number"), he turned to Janelle to help him invest it wisely. She put his money into relatively secure stocks and holdings, which weathered Micky through some dry years after the Monkees ended, and left him with the most to show financially, from the band. He in turn looked after his family.
  • Gave up her acting and singing careers when she became a mother. Was a stay-at-home mom, who looked after her husband George and their children, and managed the household. The family cherished her for it.
  • Remarried after husband George died, to Dr. Robert Scott (a minister), and had more children with him, while he raised the younger Dolenzes. The blended family got along well, and "Pop" later conducted the wedding of stepson Micky to Samantha Juste, in 1968.
  • Mother of Micky Dolenz and Coco Dolenz.
  • Grandmother of Ami Dolenz
