Jo Johannes (March 1964, Buenos Aires, Argentina). Since he was a child he studied drawing, sculpture, and painting in Gabriel Cantilo's workshop, participating in collective exhibitions since he was 10 years old.
He graduated as an architect in the 80's, working as a teacher of design and drawing at The University of Buenos Aire.
The worked as a designer and cartoonist in the studios of CLORINDO TESTA, SOLSONA, M.R.ALVAREZ, GIANCARLO PUPPO, HAMPTON Y RIVOIRA, LOPATIN, LLAURO, among others.
At the beginning of the '90s, he joined forces as an Art Director and Set Designer with partner Marcelo Bosco. Calling themselves, BOSCO & JOJO. Being the first Directors Duo from LATAM. They worked with the best advertising film production companies in Argentina. Remembered for their work with the first Live-Action Television adaptation of the cult following comic book series of CYBERSIX (Carlos Trillo and Carlos Meglia) and the Chinese director WON KAR WAI film, HAPPY TOGETHER, shot in Argentina and winner of the CANNES GOLDEN LION.
As a Publicist Film Director, he and Bosco made more than 100 commercials in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, USA, Spain, and Italy, earning awards such as GOLD AND SILVER in FIAP, ONE SHOW (USA-NY), SILVER LION in CANNES.
In the year 2002, he lives in Barcelona for a year and his love for photography stands out. He returns to Buenos Aires carrying out fashion campaigns and editorials in magazines such as D-MAG, WICKED, DOUX MAG.
In 2005, he and Bosco created the KIM Y NOVAK bar, a place that he uses to display his mural work on the facade and interior.
He makes murals in various parts of the city, and in the restaurant's LOTUS NEO THAI (cañitas and china town), CRUZ DIABLO, FREAK ROY, KIM Y NOVAK, P.O.P.A, GIMME CURRY.
In 2014 during a stay in NY, he begins his project that unites photography, architecture, and jewelry called JOJOHANNESJOYAS, which he exhibits in October for the first time at the POPA gallery, later doing one at HOLZ gallery.
The same year, he is chosen among 6k participants to compete in the REALITY MASTERCHEF ARGENTINA, an amateur chef contest, where he reaches the final instances, consecrating himself as one of the best amateur chefs in Argentina.
