Biography

(on using his grandfather's farmhouse for ('Jess and Moss') It's being reclaimed by nature. All the relics were already there. We didn't put the birds' nests in there. We didn't put the vines there. The place is obviously falling apart, and inside it was mouldy and there was raccoon poop everywhere and spider webs and bugs. It was a very down and dirty shoot.

(on photographing with varieties of old and new film stock) There are memories where you can hear every single word and see every detail, and they're very fresh and clear in your mind. Others become washed-out ghosts of what the actual experience was, ones where the more you try to remember it, the more you're allowing it to disintegrate.
