Biography

  • Norman Jeschke is a German figure skater.

He started skating as a solo skater, but switched to pair skating in later years. He was trained by Knut Schubert at the SC Berlin. His first pair skating partner was Mariana Kautz, with whom he participated at the Olympic Winter Games in 2002. After the World Championship of 2002, the pair split up and Mariana Kautz decided to end her skating career. In May 2002, Norman found a new partner: the Dutch figure skater Mikkeline Kierkgaard. They have again been trained by Knut Schubert in Berlin.

The skating pair Kierkgaard/Jeschke got the third place at the German National Championship in 2004. Due to ISU rules, they could not compete internationally because she had competed for a different country in the previous two years. They had to skip the season 2005 because of injuries and illnesses. They kept working together in Berlin and prepared for the next season and for a possible participation at the Olympic Games. In summer 2005 they attended a training camp in Vancouver.

After several injuries to Kierkgaard, they had to end their pair skating career. Kierkgaard/Jeschke have not been able to start at European or World Championships for Germany, because of these circumstances.

Norman Jeschke has been working for the Federal Armed Forces until November 2005.

In February 2006 he began training with Annette Dytrt. Since May 2006 they have been working and training together in Vancouver with trainer Bruno Marcotte.

Since October 18th, 2006 he has been part of the Pro7-Skating-Show "Stars auf Eis" (Stars on Ice). His partner was Magdalena Brzeska.
