Biography

Janosch was born on March 11, 1931 in Hindenburg, Upper Silesia, Germany [now Zabrze, Slaskie, Poland]. He is a writer, known for Television Theater (1953), Panama (1982) and Janosch (1986). He has been married to Ines since 2013.

One of Germany's best children's books authors and illustrators, having published over 150 books, which were translated in nearly 30 languages, to date.

His most popular characters are "Tigerente", "Bär" and "Tiger" all appearing in _Oh wie schön ist Panama (2006)_.

Lives on the island of Tenerife.
