  • The famous character artiste, who was an indespensible actor in films for 3 decades from the 50s to the 70s, Kongara Jaggaiah started his career as a radio announcer in All India Radio after leaving his job. Noted for his unique and powerful voice acted in many films along with the top heroes of his time NTR & ANR. He acted in all characters ranging from hero to villian to comedy artist. A noted literary figure, he translated Ravindranath Tagore's Gitanjali into Telugu. He was awarded Padma Sri and Padma Bhushan.
