- Jaffe first met Dick Gregory while managing the singing duo, "Joe and Eddie" who opened for Gregory at the Crescendo night club in 1960. 10 years later he was managing and doing public relations/publicity for Gregory. Unrelated to show business, Jaffe was an investigator for New Orleans DA Jim Garrison. Gregory was an activist calling for a new investigation of the JFK assassination. At Gregory's invitation, Jaffe testified as a forensic expert with researcher Gregory before the Rockefeller Commission for President Ford about the Assassination of President Kennedy in 1975.
- Jaffe also founded Jaffe & Co., Strategic Media providing publicity for films of director/producer Peter Bogdanovich including "Paper Moon", Stanley Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon", Jane Fonda's "Klute", Barbra Streisand's "Funny Lady", John Cassavetes' "A Woman Under the Influence", Nic Roeg's "The Man Who Fell to Earth", Steven Spielberg's "Jaws" and others.
