Biography

Jaddanbai was born in 1892 in Allahabad, North-Western Provinces, British India. She was a writer and director, known for Madam Fashion (1936), Hriday Manthan (1936) and Moti Ka Haar (1937). She died on April 8, 1949.

Daughter of Motilal Nehru and Daleepabai. Mother of Nargis, Anwar Hussain and Akhtar Hussain . Grandmother of Sanjay Dutt, Priya Dutt and Anju Dutt. Mother-in-law of Sunil Dutt.

The first woman composer of music in Indian cinema.
