Made news during the 2008 presidential campaign when she alleged - along with the rest of the Republican Party - that then-candidate Barack Obama wanted to turn the United States into a communist country. Her comment drew condemnation from Democrats. Many think she was blackballed by intolerant leftists after this, citing that afterwards her appearances in both movies and television sharply declined.
