Biography

Claire Nielson was born on April 8, 1937 in Scotland, UK. She was an actress, known for The Revenue Men (1967), Kidnapped (1971) and Boy Meets Girl (1967). She was married to Paul Greenwood and Dennis Vance. She died on April 29, 2026.

Later changed her name to Claire Nielson.

Best remembered for her comedic role in "The Waldorf Salad" episode of Fawlty Towers.

In the 1980s, when Nielson was in her late forties, she enrolled at King's College, Cambridge to study English literature - at the same time her daughter studied at the same university.

Trained at Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop, Royal Scottish Academy of Dramatic Art.
