Biography

Charles Irwin was born on January 31, 1887 in Curragh, Ireland. He was an actor and writer, known for Bomba on Panther Island (1949), Mutiny on the Bounty (1935) and Shadows on the Stairs (1941). He was married to Kathryn Florence "Kitty" Henry Jolly. He died on January 12, 1969 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.

Appeared in two Oscar-winning films for Best Picture ("Mutiny on the Bounty" and "Mrs. Miniver"), as well as eight other Best Picture-nominated features: "The Adventures of Robin Hood," "The Wizard of Oz," "The Great Dictator," "The Letter," "Kitty Foyle," "Yankee Doodle Dandy,' "Pride of the Yankees," and "The King and I.".
