Biography

He wrote for "Dark Shadows", "The Young and the Restless", "Dallas", "Romance Theatre" and several "After School Specials", two of which were nominated for Daytime Emmy awards.

He started an entertainment career in Lexington in 1955 when as a University of Kentucky senior, he wrote, directed and produced that community's first Easter Pageant with a cast of 137, a 100 voice choir, a 100 piece orchestra and 2000 volunteers. It played to an audience of 15,000.

He retired to Palm Springs, California, but he couldn't give up his love for writing plays. Two of his plays: Two Ol' Codgers Sittin' on a Bench in a County Seat Town Square" and "A Couple of Turns Around the Block" were were published in the literary journal, "Scrafitto".

He was born in 1931 in Somerset, Kentucky. When he was ten years old, his family moved to Lexington, Kentucky where Jim attended Lafayette High School.

He is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama, where he received a Master of Fine Arts degree and the first 'Outstanding Actor of the Year' award ever to be conferred by that school. He later moved to New York, where he appeared in numerous productions, including the title role in "The Boyfriend".
