Ralph Ince

While working for Warner Bros. in England, Ince was instrumental in signing the young Errol Flynn to a Warners contract.

According to the Monday, April 12, 1937 issue of The Bradford Observer, Yorkshire, England, Ince died when his car, driven by his wife, hit a street refuge, or a small island in the middle of the road for pedestrians to stand on while crossing. This was on Kensington Road West opposite Royal Albert Hall, shortly before 5 a.m. Mrs. Ince was seriously injured but survived, stating that she was momentarily bewildered by darkness before she could turn the headlights on. Ince had been in London for about four years, directing several films for Warner Brothers. He was to start on another in only a couple of days when the accident occurred.
