He was a director and writer, known for Swan Lake: The Zone (1990), Bilyy ptakh z chornoyu oznakoyu (1971) and Vechir na Ivana Kupala (1968). He was married to Lyudmila Efimenko and Larisa Kadochnikova. He died on June 15, 2010 in Prokhorivka, Cherkasy Oblast, Ukraine.
