Biography

Kim Ikonen

Overview

  • Born
    December 5, 1972 · Helsinki, Finland
  • Height
    5′ 6¼″ (1.68 m)

Mini bio

  • Kim's interest in show business was sparked early on by her father's inclination to MGM musicals, jazz music, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, and Cyd Charisse. She studied ballet, later tap-dancing, and finally jazz dance as well as afro and funk while attending school and high school.

Kim attended make-up school at Fagskolen for Dekorativ Kosmetik in Odense, Denmark (1991) and later assisted on photo shoots as well as two feature films in Sweden, and worked in Paris, France, to develop her talent. Upon her return to Sweden, she succeeded in getting into an agency, which launched her make-up career.

Ever creative and curious, Kim studied acting at Calle Flygare Theater School, and later attended Scenstudion (Matthew Allen) for 2 years full-time (1997-1999). Since 2000, she has been self-employed and worked as an actress, make-up artist, voice-over talent, columnist, dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. Her varied resume even includes short stints as PR-consultant, project manager and events producer.

Over the years Kim's voice-over clientele continued to expand, and by 2004 she had invested in her own HomeStudio, focusing more on performances behind the mic, than on stage or in front of the camera.

Today Kim freelances as a make-up artist and hair stylist in film and fashion, while she continues to do voice-overs for brands such as: Google, IKEA, Ericsson, Microsoft, Tupperware, H&M, Electrolux, BOSE... and Moomin.
