Jakob Højlev Jørgensen
- Actor
Jakob Højlev Jørgensen brings a rare emotional depth to his roles, a depth that unsettles rather than reassures.
He has worked with Oscar-winning directors Thomas Vinterberg (The Hunt, The Commune) and Bille August (A Fortunate Man, Ehrengard), and appears in international productions alongside actors such as James McAvoy (Speak No Evil) and Jodie Foster (True Detective). He also features in the Oscar-nominated film The Girl with the Needle.
On stage, he received the Lauritzen Grant for Outstanding Performance for his work in the solo play I Am My Own Wife, in which he carried 35 different characters. He has also played Antonio Salieri in Peter Shaffer’s Amadeus, one of theatre’s most psychologically complex roles.
A graduate of the National Theatre School of Denmark (1997), Jakob works across Danish theatre and international film and television.
