Biography

Oskar Höcker was born on July 21, 1892 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He was an actor, known for The Testament of Dr. Mabuse (1933), The Threepenny Opera (1931) and Der Herr der Welt (1934). He died on December 14, 1959 in Enzklösterle, Baden-Württemberg, West Germany.

Prolific stage and screen character actor, trained at the Theaterakademie Wien under Albert Heine. Appeared in major Ufa productions of the 1930's and 40's and with Defa in East German films after the war. Played anything from working class men and farmers to uniformed police officers, from small-time gangsters to provincial judges.

He also appeared in many German movies during wartime, so in "Jud Süss" (1940), "Anuschka" (1942), "Paracelsus" (43),and "Akrobat Schööön!" (1943).

The actor Oskar Höcker belonged at the beginning of the 30's to those support actors who were regularly engaged for great productions.

After the war dropped his film career off.
