Biography

Václav Hybš was born on June 3, 1935 in Police nad Metují, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]. He was an actor and writer, known for Písen pro Rudolfa III. (1967), Dear Aunties and Me (1975) and Hodinárova svatební cesta korálovým morem (1979). He died on April 12, 2026 in the Czech Republic.

Started playing the piano at the age of seven, later adding the violin, but only for a short time.

At the age of twelve, he began playing the trumpet under the supervision of his grandfather, and in 1950 he was admitted to the conservatory, where his main field was the trumpet.

Trumpeter, conductor and bandleader.

After his military service in the late 1950s, he joined the Kamil Hála and Josef Poslední Orchestra and began arranging musical compositions himself.

In 2005, he received the Artis Bohemiae Amicis (Friends of Czech Art) award from the Ministry of Culture for the dissemination of Czech culture in the world.
