Terry Huud

Biography

  • Terry Michael Huud is a classically trained film composer as well as having studied in jazz composition and arranging. Born in Texas; raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Terry studied Film and Music composition, orchestration and performance at Carnegie Mellon University, The Pittsburgh Filmmakers and St. Vincent College, Latrobe and CSUN. He is a member of ASCAP, SCL and AFM- Local 47 in Los Angeles. Terry's love of film music and performing, allowed him to score his own student films throughout college while other students were hiring other composers or using 'canned' music. Terry's strength lies in composing, where he was able to hone his craft on short films, documentaries, and commercials early in his career. Terry's themes are inspiring and melodic and his sensitivity to a film's unique needs and the director's vision are always paramount. Some of Terry's score works include the cult favorite Miramax/Dimension Films feature "Stephen Kings: Children of the Corn 666", feature film and Sundance 2004 Best Dramatic entry nomination "Paranoia 1.0". On the television front, he has scored many documentaries for Discovery Channel including the popular "Movie Magic" series that ran several years. His work is a permanent addition to the Smithsonian archives listed under "The Art of Illusion".
