- Attractive late 40s/early 50s film co-star signed by RKO in 1945 who appeared rather obliquely but decoratively as a nice girl in film noir and action adventures (she once played Jane to Lex Barker's Tarzan). She retired for the most part after marrying a real estate agent in 1952.

- She attended Duchesne Catholic Girls School for Girls in Omaha where she was bitten by the acting bug. She changed her name from Virginia Houston to Virginian Huston to match the spelling of director John Huston's name. She performed at the Omaha Community Playhouse, where Henry Fonda and Dorothy McGuire had gotten their starts, before moving to Los Angeles.
- Four months before she began filming "Tarzan's Peril" (1951), she suffered a broken back in an automobile accident. She was able to recover quickly and complete the movie. But subsequent press reports indicated that filmmakers' fear of continued effects from her injury reduced the number and type of film offers she received. She married in 1952 and basically left the movie business after 1954.
- According to a 1948 news story, composer Jimmy McHugh was introducing her as his wife-to-be and was trying to get her cast as Bing Crosby's leading lady, which could have been "Emperor's Waltz" (1948), in which Joan Fontaine became Crosby's co-star, or "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court," in which Crosby's co-star was Rhonda Fleming.
