Jay Hunt was born on 4 August 1855 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He was a director and actor, known for The Black Sheep of the Family (1916), What Love Can Do (1916) and The Promise (1917). He was married to Florence Hale. He died on 18 November 1932 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Veteran silent film director (and occasional character actor), who began making films for Vitagraph in 1911. Moving on to Kay-Bee, Universal and Bull&#39;s Eye, he turned out numerous second-string dramas and westerns for the remainder of the decade.
