Tony Hulman was born on 11 February 1901 in Terre Haute, Indiana, USA. He was an actor, known for Winning (1969), ABC Sports (1961) and The Ed Sullivan Show (1948). He was married to Mary Fendrich Hulman. He died on 27 October 1977 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.

Purchased the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0725466/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Eddie Rickenbacker</a> in 1945. The speedway has been owned by the Hulman family since then.

Member of Theta Chi fraternity (Delta Pi Chapter, Indiana State
University).
