  • At the age of 15 in 1928 he won a competition in the newspaper "Politiken". The prize was a trip around the world at the centennial of author Jules Verne. He wrote a book : "Around the World in 44 Days with Palle" which became world famous. His story inspired a young cartoonist Hergé to create his famous character "Tintin".
