Broadway debut in 'Distant City' (1941), wartime service, then back on stage in 'Decision', 'Born Yesterday','Stalag 17' (as the traitor) and other plays. Noted on TV as one of three actors portraying the crime-fighting lawyer Mike Karr in 'Edge of Night' (1962-1970).
