Gwyneth Hughes is known for Five Days (2007), Mr Bates vs. The Post Office (2024) and Doing Money (2018).

Her script for the 2012 TV movie "The Girl" was the subject of enormous controversy. She claimed to have interviewed many people about Tippi Hedren's relationship with Alfred Hitchcock, but several of the interviewees then came forward and angrily insisted that their remarks had been either distorted or ignored completely by Hughes in order to manufacture a false and outrageous slur on the reputation of a great film-maker.
