- Huffaker's wife, Norma Lee Fink, was an attorney and the first female prosecutor in Texas. Later, as a private practitioner, her clients, aside from her husband, included Sam Peckinpah, Franco Nero, Henry Farrell, Christopher Lee, Inger Stevens, Norman Baer, Ed Linn, and Slim Pickens.
- Wrote a memoir in his 50s titled "One Time I Saw Morning Come Home" in which he tries to come to grips with the fact that his parents were just teenagers when they had him.
