James D. Houston, Upper Darby High School Class of 1977 (2002 Hall of Fame) Cornell University, 81 Astral Physics and Computer Science James D. Houston was a pioneering digital animation designer and engineer, awarded the Technicolor, Herbert T. Kalmus Award in 2014 "For his leadership and contributions in the application of digital technologies to motion picture production processes. Mr. Houston played a key role in the development of standards related to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and sciences' Academy Color Eroding System (ACES), as well as production and design."

He has worked to define the Second Golden Age of Disney Animation in such movies as Little Mermaid, Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin."
