At 12 years old, young George Hood shot a behind-the-scenes 16mm film with synchronized sound with his father, legendary Oregon film pioneer Frank Hood, in Portland's KPTV studio during a 1958 broadcast of "High Time," the local music and dance show for teenagers. The film captures brief interviews and performances with Frankie Lymon, Paul Anka, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly and Buddy Knox. The film remains the only surviving moving imagery of "High Time," although none of the material George and Frank shot was actually broadcast. The film is part of The Hood Collection, preserved by Oregon Historical Society.
