Mats Holmgren was born in 1968 in Sweden. In 1988, he began his studies at an art school, later continuing his film education for four years at various film schools. He started his career as a clapper loader and focus puller, eventually becoming a colorist at The Chimney Pot in Stockholm, where he has worked for over twenty years.
