Eske Holm, born 1940, is a Danish dancer and choreographer with a long past in Denmark's ballet companies and dance theatre. Throughout his career he has put equal weight on established theatre and the more experimental, "off-Broadway" productions. He has included social statements as well as artistic ones, and has stated a combined a focus on graciousness, power and cunning. His dancing career evolved since the early 1970s after a youth which saw him take interest in literature, music and, in turn, dance. In 1998 he published his memoirs as "Dansen med de dobbelte budskaber", and in 2001 he released a documentary about his work and his appreciation of dance. He has also written books about a number of topics, released an instruction video for a workout system and taken an interest in the pedagogy of dance training.
