Markos Holevas

Markos Holevas is a Greek director and screenwriter. He studied economics in Thessaloniki and later pursued directing at the Eugenia Hatzikou School, also attending seminars with French television FR-3 Alsace and INEP in Paris. Early in his career he worked as an assistant to Takis Kanellopoulos before directing a series of documentaries for Greek television. Active in the Greek film community, Holevas served as a founding member and president of the Thessaloniki Super-8 Festival (1979-1983), was on the editorial board of the magazine Kinimatografika Tetradia, and later became a board member of the Greek Film Centre and vice president of the Hellenic Film Directors Association. His television film Oneira glyka (1990) was selected for the collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, reflecting his contribution to contemporary Greek cinema.
