Inmaculada Hoces

Inmaculada Hoces holds a licentiature in Law, specializing in Intellectual Property. In 1987, she moved to Madrid to make films. She wrote, directed and produced the short films in 35mm Cualquier día con Manuela (Any day with Manuela) and Por un puñado de duros (For a handful of dimes). Both were selected by important national and international film festivals, where the former received the Jinete Ibérico Award for the Best Spanish Film in the XVIII International Festival of Huesca (Spain). Studied acting with the best professors, worked as an assistant to celebrated film directors and developed a long trajectory in television principally as a script writer and producer. In 2008 founded the Production Company Las Cosas Nuevas. In 2011, wrote, acted in, directed, produced and distributed her first feature film Una canción (A song) for which she obtained the Silver Fish Award for Best Director at the III International Catholic Film Festival Mirabile Dictu in Rome (Italy). Also nominated as Best Film. Was a finalist as Best Picture at the 29th Film Festival of Bogota (Columbia). A finalist for Best Screenplay and Peoples Choice in the John Paul II International Film Festival in Miami (USA). Opened the Section of Spanish Film in Vienna (Austria) organized by the "Instituto Cervantes." And participated in the II International Selection of Films that Inspire "De Madrid hasta el Cielo" (Spain). In 2013 Inmaculada produced, directed, wrote, photographed and edited the documentary short Nopoki and in 2014 the documentary film Nopoki 'yo vengo'(Nopoki 'I come'), filmed in the Amazon Jungle in Peru. This film has participated in the International Film Festival of Solidarity KO & Digital in Barcelona (Spain); official selection in the World Premieres Film Festival Philippines competing to Best Environmental Film award.
