After 35 years as an Emmy award-nominated Art Director in the film and TV industry, working with directors including Ridley Scott and Clint Eastwood, events in Monty's life compelled him to begin expressing himself on canvas. The period of self-exploration that followed resulted in an extraordinary collection of large scale paintings comprised, according to FAD magazine, 'of richly layered paints that pulsate on the canvas in a language which is, in parts, abstract, figurative and expressionistic.'
Monty's first solo exhibition "A Happy Accident" was named by Forbes Magazine as one of the top 3 Best Painting Exhibitions To See In London in 2020. When not painting in his studio (having long outgrown the shed), Monty continues to play an active role in the UK Film and Television Industry.
