Biography

Daisuke Hinata

Mini bio

  • Daisuke Hinata is an international, multi-talented, and Grammy-nominated Japanese music producer who spans multiple genres, from traditional academia to electronica. His skills as a composer, keyboardist, synthesizer programmer, recording engineer, studio designer and recording artist have led to millions of his compositions being sold.

Born & raised in Tokyo, Japan, Daisuke's worldwide search for his musical fortune began at the age of 17 when he left Japan, taking him through London's vast music scene, studying at the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, and ultimately landing in Los Angeles, where he submerged himself in the New Wave pop movement, working as a session musician and writing songs. He would also come to build several companies in LA spanning production, publishing, recording, and an award-winning music label.

Rated amongst the top artists/producers to come out of Japan, in 1987, Daisuke was nominated for a Grammy as an artist & producer with the band Interiors, on the Windham Hill label.

His biggest commercial successes came as the producer of three albums with three chart-topping singles for the Japanese superstar, Tetsuya Komuro. The collaboration resulted in TK's first #1 hit single from his album, "Digitalian is Eating Breakfast."

Currently, Daisuke's band Encounter is performing at various live venues around Tokyo, and has received tremendous acclaim from their performance at Alfa Music Live at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall in 2015. In 2016, he worked once again with Tetsuya Komuro, playing with the Chemical Brothers at the Yokohama Arena.

In total, Daisuke has produced over 100 albums and composed over 1,000 songs, while working with numerous artists including, Michael Jackson (Dangerous World Tour), Diana Ross (TV theme single), the Black Eyed Peas, Bobby Caldwell, and has sold over 7 million singles and albums worldwide.
