Heather Hill(I)

Born in Rye, New York, Heather Hill graduated from Rye Country Day School before beginning her career in the television industry in New York in the 1970s as a production assistant on the CBS soap opera Love of Life. She quickly advanced through the ranks to become an assistant director and eventually a director. During her years in New York in the 1980s, she also helmed episodes of CBS' Love Is a Many Splendored Thing, CBS' As the World Turns and NBC's Search for Tomorrow. In 1985, Hill relocated to Los Angeles and joined The Young and the Restless as a contract director. During her 15-year tenure, she directed hundreds of episodes of the Genoa City-set show - and was awarded 6 Daytime Emmy Awards as part of the show's directed team out of 13 nominations. Hill married fellow Y&R director Randall Hill which whom she shared two sons. Heather Hill died on October 10, 2025 in Las Vegas, USA. She was 85.
