Biography

Kristin Hersh was born on August 7, 1966 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She is a composer and actress, known for The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), Empire Records (1995) and With Honors (1994). She is married to Billy O'Connell. They have three children.

Children: Dylan, Ryder and Wyatt

Stepsister of Tanya Donelly, with whom she played in the band, Throwing Muses. Tanya later left the band and formed Belly.

Her fourth child, a son named Bodhi, was born in November 2002.

Was best friends in college with Betty Hutton.

Raised in Newport, Rhode Island.

I'm definitely a feminist as much as I am a Democrat. I don't think we have time to let those ladies say, "Well, I'm not a feminist" or anything because feminism should be the last movement we allow to disappear. I mean, you can't go against women, they're half the human race!

My best friend in college was the movie actress Betty Hutton. She was too old to be in college and I was too young; this was all we really had in common, if you can call it that. Though she did like the fact that I was in a band.
