Ruthie Henshall was born on March 7 in Bromlay, England, UK. She has been dancing for most of her life and has appeared in such shows as "Cats" and "A Chorus Line." Her debut album, "Love is Here to Stay, " is a tribute to the Gershwins' music. This multi-talented stage star can sing from a low belt to a high soprano. She is also an excellent actress who effortlessly moves audiences to tears. She has played Ellen in "Miss Saigon," Fantine in "Les Miserables," Nancy in "Oliver!", and both Velma and Roxie in "Chicago." She and Michael Ball recently revived the Theatregoer's Club of Great Britain Award for Most Popular Musical Stage Actor and Actress. She made her debut on Broadway in "Chicago" after performing in that same musical in London's West End.

Ruthie's Broadway debut achieved a remarkable feat: she played Roxie in Chicago in London's West End, then Velma in New York. Her first New York appearance was in the Encores! presentation of Ziegfeld Follies of 1936. She made her professional debut in A Chorus Line in the ensemble and moved into the role of Val. Her West End credits include Miss Saigon, Les Misérables (she also performed in the televised star-studded international 10th-anniversary concert) and Oliver! as Nancy. She received her first Olivier Award nomination as Polly in Crazy for you, took the Best Actress Award in a Musical as Amalia Balash in She Loves Me, and received her third Olivier nomination for Chicago. She won the London's Theatregoers Award for the most popular Musical Actress of the past 21 years. She has appeared at the prestigious Chichester Festival, toured Britain with her concert, and appeared in Hey, Mr. Producer!, celebrating the work of Cameron Mackintosh. Her solo recordings include Love is Here to Stay and The Ruthie Henshall Album, as well as original cast recordings. She accomplished all this by age 33.
