Sonya Hedenbratt was a Swedish jazz vocalist, entertainer, and actress on stage and screen. She was one of Sweden's most renowned jazz artists who made her debut in 1948 singing her version of Billie Holiday's "Lover Man". Sonya Hedenbratt was above all a live artist. She did not, like many of her contemporaries, invest in the recording industry. It was not until 1978 that she released her first real jazz album. She appeared in several feature films, like Ingmar Bergman's "Fanny & Alexander" (1982), along with dozens revues and variety shows.
