Biography

Isao Hashizume was born on September 17, 1941 in Osaka, Japan. He is an actor, known for The Tale of The Princess Kaguya (2013), Tampopo (1985) and Space Battleship Yamato (2010).

Hashizume was not the initial choice to play in Tokyo Family of 2011. Bunta Sugawara was initially cast in Tokyo Family, the 2011 remake of Tokyo Story, but ended up not playing the role of the Hirayama patriarch after shooting was delayed due to the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
