Trained at Drama Centre, London. He was one of the older members of Group 28, training between 1989 and 1992.

For his role as Craig in Creep (2004), he stayed in character and didn't socialize with anyone throughout the shoot.

Although born in London, Sean grew up in Lowestoft, Suffolk. He moved to London to attend drama school.

Starred in four movies with Michael Fassbender: Wedding Belles (2007), Prometheus (2012), Macbeth (2015), and Trespass Against Us (2016).

Doesn't smoke.

I like the idea of playing people outside of society. That's where I tend to be drawn.

I wasn't like, 'I want to be famous.' I just wanted to be an actor. I wasn't chasing anything. I was never stressed or worried. I never had any fear of rejection or not making it, anything like that.

School was not a place I enjoyed.

Everyone says I'm intense, or I'm mad, or I play bad guys. I don't see any of that.

I used to like Barbra Streisand films. It was Funny Girl (1968) that really turned me on, in a sense, to acting. I remember it specifically being a rainy Saturday afternoon. I couldn't play football, so I stayed in, and I watched Funny Girl (1968).
