Born Robert Anthony Harris in Jefferson City, Missouri and raised in Kansas City, Anthony Harris graduated from Ruskin High School before serving four years as a Navy Hospital Corpsman during the Gulf War. He then attended Lincoln University of Missouri, where he majored in Broadcast Communications.
His first exposure to color grading came as a timing coordinator on Starship Troopers. On that production he proposed pairing compositing software with film scanning to color all visual effects shots for Sony Pictures Imageworks, an approach that placed him among the early pioneers of the digital intermediate process.
Over the following two decades Harris built more than 100 feature film credits. At Sony Pictures Imageworks he worked as a digital color timer on the Spider-Man and Matrix trilogies, Men in Black II, Superman Returns, and Charlie's Angels. He later joined Rhythm & Hues Studios, advancing from color timer to color supervisor and color grading supervisor on films including Life of Pi, X-Men: First Class, The Golden Compass, Night at the Museum, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. His later feature credits include Seventh Son, Into the Storm, Machete Kills, and R.I.P.D.
More recently he served as lead colorist on Intel's 3D volumetric video productions, extending his color work into immersive capture formats. He continues to work as a digital colorist in DaVinci Resolve on narrative and commercial projects, and is the owner of AN7 Holdings LLC. He also records and performs music as AN7HONY.
Harris lives in Los Angeles. He is the father of ArieAhna Gatton, Naturelle Harris, and Vaughn Harris.
