Biography

Marte Harell was born on January 4, 1907 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary [now Austria]. She was an actress, known for Die Fledermaus (1946), Erzherzog Johanns große Liebe (1950) and Frauen sind keine Engel (1943). She was married to Karl Hartl. She died on March 12, 1996 in Vienna, Austria.

Attractive and graceful Austrian leading lady, at her peak in the 1940's and 50's. Trained at the Max-Reinhardt Seminar and on stage from 1937. Discovered for the screen by the director 'Geza von Bolvary'. From 1939, typically cast as quintessentially genteel Viennese ladies in turn-of-the-century comedies and operettas.
