Biography

Dr Justin Hardy was an award-winning, academically-accredited writer, director, and producer based professionally in London, United Kingdom. His work was grounded in the union of historical academia with the creation of engaging drama and documentary.

Hardy's filmmaking was keenly inspired by his longstanding commitment to the study of history as an alumnus of several prestigious UK institutions, including the University of Oxford and University College London (UCL). Hardy rooted his film and television projects in writing and direction which was concordant with relevant insight into educative entertainment.

In addition to authoring three books on the relationship between the study of history and the discipline of filmmaking, Hardy was a lecturer at UCL, where he completed his PhD in 2023.

Son of Robin Hardy, best known as director of The Wicker Man (1973).

He died a few weeks before the premiere of his film Wrath of the Gods (2026), a sequel to The Wicker Man (1973) which had been directed by his father Robin Hardy.

Has completed a PhD with University College London.
